Still photos allow us to capture,in an instant,complex and layered stories rich with emotion. We see an image and we are moved by its beauty, or by the memories it sparks, or by the story it tells about our own lives. This is why I love being a photographer: That an image I captured in an instant can become an emotional touchstone for others is simultaneously humbling and invigorating for me as an artist.
