Last weekend our family joined our yearly twins family camping chaos at Samuel P. Taylor state park. Even though i was gimping around with my bum ankle I had a great time. I was not really able to do any of the hiking, swimming, running around after the 20 or so kids but that was ok with me. What I was able to do was sit back, relax with my foot up and enjoy the outdoors.

This was such a rare treat for me. Usually i am helping the rest of the parents constantly corralling the kids to keep them out of the poison oak or wondering off too far. This year was better than the last few since the kids are all around 5 and are able to follow most of the rules and are somewhat self sufficient in occupying their time.

Sometimes it is good to be a gimp.
